Bit of a curate's egg of a day

Ferries are still broken, so I ended up getting in to work half an hour late today (see earlier post, but less lucky).

I decided to use the time to get a train ticket up to Leeds for the weekend, to save time tomorrow, and ended up breaking their printer and causing a big backlog of people trying to get tickets for the next ferry.

On the plus side, I got my Good Deed for the Day done: I found someone getting off the ferry who had three big heavy bags and a bike to manage, so I carried two of them to her car for her (about half a mile away, but not hugely off my route).

Then on arriving at work I found we had an internal meeting with Danish pastries laid on, so being late didn't matter and I got a bit of breakfast into the bargain.

Well done on the good deed. I recall an occasion when I tried to help a young woman with her bags on a rail replacement bus, and she steadfastly refused. This would have been about fifteen years ago.
