Criminal phlebotomy
Jan. 12th, 2011 09:56 pmI gave blood today for the first time - I've been meaning to for ages, but they had the buses come round today so I booked myself in for a free cup of tea and a packet of biscuits.
I do hope they get the blood labelled properly, though - there's lots of scope for mix-ups. For one thing I don't know what type it is; for another, I found myself on the same bus with an appointment 5 minutes after the chap with my name who sits next to me (we confuse people terribly, they can't work out why the same person on the end of the phone sometimes has a Scots accent and sometimes doesn't); and then I broke the registration system by already being on there - same name, same birthday, same everything.
Ah, but the address for the existing entry was different from mine, which I though would be proof of my newness. But no: "Might it be your previous address? HM Prison Dartmoor...?".
No. No it isn't :-D
