Monthly reminder: Wightfrag will be held again on 23-26 May.

I'm currently expecting Wellinghall, Philmophlegm, Chainmailmaiden, Skordh, Phina, Louisedennis and Person-who-would-probably-be-Bethran-if-he-had-an-LJ, together with other halves and in some cases thirds.

Do let me know if I'm volunteering people without their consent :-) Anyone else up for it? :-D

Hmm. Should make a Wightfrag avatar, I suppose... probably a screenshot of my sniper'd corse in UT ;-)

No other half in my case, he will be doing his dissertation :-(

He did claim he would be free next year, however I will believe this when I see it...

I would very much like to come, but I am not in a position to say yea or nay until closer to the time.

It'd be nice to see you :-)

Nothing will really be properly decided for a couple of months yet, if past years are any guide :-)

Is there potentially some sort of system for allocating accommodation? Perhaps the quality of the accommodation on offer correlates directly to the quantity and quality of electronic equipment supplied...?

I was going to be arbitrary and dictatorial about it :-D

After checking with people to find out what they'd prefer, and making sure my decisions would be acceptable to all parties, of course :-D

What the basis of allocation would be... *shrug* :-)

Unfortunately for you, I think the best way to get a spacious room is to come along with a child...

A decent PC is about the same height, width, depth, noise level and degree of annoyance as a small toddler - doesn't that count?

Thing is, a PC doesn't need room for a travel cot to sleep in ;-) And if your PC manages to be as annoying on a daily basis as a toddler, you've been seriously done!

Blimey! You must have a lot of trouble with your PCs!

Oh by the way, Bunn is coming 'in her own right' and not just as an 'other half'.

If the garage is going, that would be fine...

Yes, I did think Pellinor was asking for trouble in the way he phrased that...

Our tentative plan so far has you in the garage, I think.

Yes, but I couldn't be bothered to type out two names for each couple. Though I did think I should have left you out and mentioned Bunn in the interests of laziness, but by that time I'd already written you.

actually, I forgot to mention to you I think that there are plans for another OC camping trip this summer, so I, the tent and the 2 longlegged hotwaterbottles will be heading off without you...

If by 'camping' you mean a weekend of watching Carry On films, then I'd be on for it.

If by 'camping' you mean sleeping snug and warm in a motorhome so big it has its own postcode, then I'd be on for it.

If, on the other hand, by 'camping' you mean sleeping outside under some artifical fabric, then no.

Is one and a half children enough to earn me a bid for the spare bed?

I am thinking that after this year, though, we'll need to move to the B&B option.

Yes, you're down for the spare bed. Our main debate is where to put Louise, since she also needs a room for two plus child, but I think we've almost worked it out now.

G is capable of sleeping on her own or sharing a room with other children, if that makes things easier. I would say we could all share with other adults (if we adopt the G sleeps somewhere until we go to bed and then we move her) - but other adults may be less than keen on sharing with G

The thing about this house is that we have a fair number of rooms, but they're all relatively small, so one would struggle to fit many people in.

Couples are OK as a double bed takes less space than 2 singles; children we assume can be slotted in fairly close to parents, so couple plus child needs much less space than 3 adults. Single adults are the anooyingthings that are hard to find space for :-)

Our debate is really whether you go in one room and someone else in another, or vice versa. Although there is an element of LoA wanting access to a PC early in the morning, too :-)

How early will she want to have access? G likes to get us up around 6.30am...

!!!

G may need to be drugged :-D

Though I suspect you might find LoA looking after G for you, in whichever room doesn't still have sleeping people in. She too tends to get up ridiculously early, often pre-7.00.

Well keeping her up late is fairly effective, though with a lag of a few days... so we should perhaps start early.

No, I won't seriously want access. I do tend to get up a good few hours earlier than everyone else at these gatherings, but we now have internet access in the kitchen, and a shiny new laptop, so I'll be happily surfing in the kitchen while everyone else does the sensible thing and stays asleep.

Technically neither of us are single :-p

And if the singleness is such a problem I could always bring a cat or two with me...

Our rooms aren't really big enough for much sharing. We've got one of those modern "four bedroom" houses in which some of the bedrooms are hardly big enough to swing a cat. However, my room has a double futon in it, and enough space to one side of it for a single airbed. It certainly won't be spaciour, and getting in and out during the night would require a bit of clambering, but I think it would be okay. It's also likely to be a bit quieter than the downstairs rooms for when she goes early to bed. The alternative is the dining room, but that's likely to be quite a bit noisier, and also liable to be full of an active board game which we might be loathe to stop at 7.30. (My room, on the other hand, will only have one or maybe two computers in it, and there will be plenty more elsewhere for evening gaming sessions. The (converted) garage and Pellinor's room tend to be the main computer gaming locations.)

We want to come, and will unless we're in Orkney. We'll keep you posted.

If we do come, we'll be happy with a B&B. (I don't do floors).

It would be nice to see you if you can make it :-)

If you can't make all the time you could always come on the Saturday... even leaving Bristol after 5.00 (though I have no idea what your shifts would be :-) )would get you here for a chunk of Saturday night and all of Sunday.

We do have B&Bs nearby. Booking earlier is of course better; we could try provisionally booking one for you if you'd like, or just wait and see... :-)
