Le tour Babel
Jun. 21st, 2006 01:17 pmI'm organising a trip for St Malo in a couple of weeks' time, taking about 30 morris people from 5 teams across to perform at the Festival du Monde, which should be very good fun - even if I don't know what it is.
I've been corresponding with a chap in St Malo who's organising the festival but speaks no English, and so as I speak very little French I've been using Babelfish to translate his emails and to write mine (though I do sense-check mine using my GCSE French).
It occurred to me today to retranslate some of the emails I've sent him into English.
According to one I sent a little while ago:
"We would like to also make small executions around the Saturday city and Sunday when you do not need us for the formal parades or executions."
I must remember to take my black cap.
