Of absinthe and frog leaping
Oct. 26th, 2005 04:58 pmBack on Sunday from the Morris 18-30 bash in Leeds. Very very good fun.
Lots of good dancing, even if it was rainy. Webley Leap was great fun, as ever, though it's a shame we didn't have the burning sticks this year.
The local beer was all good, especially the ones in the end barrels down in the cellar. The middle one I didn't like so much. I think they were from the Salamander brewery, but I don't know what they were called.
Lesson learnt: don't down a bottle of absinthe in one go.
I now seem to be Squire for next year, so I have to organise the next weekend in the Isle of Wight. I'm not quite sure how that happened, but on the Sunday people seemed to think I was Squire so I presumably agreed at some point. Should be interesting, though perhaps having three Squires and a foreman in the same household might be over-egging things, especially given that they're only two actual people :-)
I also have a bump on my head and a very painful bit at the base of my ribs on the left hand side. Not quite sure how that happened either, but I suspect that leapfrogging was involved. Oh well, it's my shield side so shouldn't affect the slaughtering of undead hordes this weekend.
