Knitting things
Mar. 31st, 2006 01:11 pmAluminium is noticeably less dense than steel when made into mail. One can make satisfyingly rapid progress with larger rings of which half are pre-punched and don’t need closing. Having said rings badly anodised (so they have an odd piebald appearance and you need to be careful about which way up they are) does slow this down a lot, but it's amazing how one can still get at least one side of the mail a consistent colour.
People who think that making green mail is odd are weird. It's aluminium, so it's completely unhistorical anyway, so why not make it an unusual colour? *I* think it'll look pretty when it's finished, especially with a bronzy brown trim. And dags. I think dags have promise.
Gloating over new rings is almost as much fun as doing anything with them. Possibly more so.
Really Useful Boxes ™ really are very useful.
