Why do smoke alarms always run out of battery power and start that really irritating quiet-but-piercing beeping in the middle of the night? I'm very glad I had a spare battery around (and thanks to my large collection of Really Useful Boxes ™ was able to find it in short order).

What really annoys me though is that I'd just had time to get back to bed after putting tools etc away when a second alarm did exactly the same thing. Literally, a delay measurable in seconds. I'm very glad my Really Useful Boxes contain huge quantities of stuff (even if Some People consider it redundant) so I was able to find and fit a second battery in short order.

Memo to self: must get some more spare batteries, and probably more Boxes too. Can't have too many! :-D

Heh. I seem to recall making a post similar to this a few months ago. It must be a conspiracy or something. Those things nevergo off in the daytime.
